Highlighting Significant Text
From DE Brand Guide 2024
Use the following best practices when highlighting a significant word or phrase.
- Use a font weight two times stronger for the highlighted text.
- Use highlighted underlines for short phrases or words to call attention.
- Add a highlighted underline a few pixels below the baseline, not the descender line.
- Use a rounded stroke about 1/3 the size of the x-height for the highlighted underline.
- Dark Backgrounds: Use the color Space or Azure for the highlighted underline.
- Light Backgrounds: Use the colors Bumblebee, Coral, or Jade for the highlighted underline.
- Do not highlight more than 50% of the copy or include more than two highlights.
- Do not use font colors outside of the Color section.
