Celebrate Constitution Day with your students!
Celebrate Constitution Day by exploring the history, purpose, and legacy of the Constitution of the United States. On September 17, 1787, delegates from the newly-formed states signed the Constitution of the United States. Congress passed a law to commemorate the day as “Citizenship Day” in 1952, and a new law renamed the holiday “Constitution Day” in 2004.
