Discovery Education Invites Educators from Around the World to Attend Virtual Conference
Free professional development event on October 25th to focus on integrating educational technologies into classroom instruction
Silver Spring, MD (Oct. 13, 2008) – Educators from around the globe are invited to join together online and in-person on Saturday, October 25, 2008, for a free virtual conference sponsored by Discovery Education. Featuring high-quality professional development seminars from national experts, the Discovery Educator Network Virtual Conference will focus on helping educators integrate the latest educational technologies into their everyday classroom activities.
During the conference, participating educators will learn powerful ways to integrate digital media and Web 2.0 tools into their instruction, and discover an abundance of resources that expand their own personal learning network.
This unique professional development opportunity is presented by the Discovery Educator Network (DEN). A community of 88,000 active educators, DEN members are passionate about integrating media into classroom curriculum and collaborating with each other to improve student achievement. DEN members nationwide will be hosting onsite regional gatherings complimenting the online sessions hosted by Discovery Education staff. The DEN is a service of Discovery Education.
The Discovery Educator Network Virtual Conference is scheduled to feature presentations from Discovery Education’s Scott Kinney, Hall Davidson, Steve Dembo and other ed-tech experts as well as a special spotlight session from Jennifer Dorman, Staff Development Facil itator for the Central Bucks School District in Doylestown, Pa., and a STAR Discovery Educator. These and other outstanding and informative sessions will be delivered via webcast to conference attendees worldwide. Those attending regional gatherings of educators attending the Discovery Educator Network Virtual Conference will enjoy these presentations as well as breakout sessions presented by local STAR Discovery Educators.
