Louisiana Public Broadcasting Continues Commitment to Providing State Educators and Students High-Quality Digital Media

LPB Cyberchannel to continue featuring Discovery Education content

Silver Spring, MD (June 12, 2008) – Renewing their commitment to provide Louisiana’s students and educators the largest and highest quality library of digital media available, Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) recently agreed to extend, for three years, its agreement to offer Discovery Education streaming content to all schools in the state. LPB delivers Discovery Education content through their LPB Cyberchannel program.

Established in 1971, Louisiana Public Broadcasting is a state network of six non-commercial television stations licensed to the Louisiana Educational Television Authority. Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s Learning Port is the online home of LPB CyberChannel,as well as other K-12 resources, links, lesson plans, virtual field trips, and online professional development courses.

The only digital video-based learning resource scien tifically proven to increase academic achievement, Discovery Education streaming enhances educator’s curriculum with digital media and engages today’s technology-savvy generation. Today, 1 million educators in more than half of U.S. schools learn with Discovery Education streaming.
